What is Breathwork and why?

Breathwork is conscious control of breathing to influence our mental, physical or spiritual state.

When you begin recovery from addiction it can be challenging to learn how to manage emotional, physical and psychological pain in new ways. Breathwork can help to manage stressful situations in a healthier way.

When we connect and become present with ourselves through breathwork, we learn more about our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs so we can then discover what makes us happy and we can remain more in the present. The most direct way to the present moment is through conscious breath. We can also use the breath as an anchor to ground us into the present at any given time.

“Breathing is not about making you feel better, it’s about getting better at feeling”
